Where does the name "ruusmusik" come from?
In the 1930s, a young girl was working as a servant for a farmer near the town of Norden in East Frisia/Germany. She had to sleep in straw. The local children gave her the nickname of “Antje Ruusmusik". The East Frisian word “Ruus” means: intoxication, noise, trouble or quarrel. The verb "rusen” means: germinate, ferment, to be in heat.
